For parents

New places feel enormous until they become familiar. Reading a school adventure a few nights before a real first day gives your child a rehearsal they can lean on. Use the character's routine as a script for the morning itself.

These are stories, not therapy. If you ever have a worry about your child’s wellbeing, your health visitor, GP or school are the right next step.

Chat about it afterwards

  • What did the character pack in their bag?
  • Which part of the school day looked most fun?
  • What would you do if you could not find your peg?
  • Who are the grown-ups you can ask for help?
  • What shall we get ready together tonight?
